Summary: | After 1975 French authorities' policy on Islamic immigration underwent a significant evolution. Initially influenced by the international oil crisis of 1973, it was marked by the restrictive measures limiting the influx of Islamic immigrants. However, the policy was characterized by inefficiency due to mitigation of this policy (for example, the right to family reunification), and also because Muslim immigrants used to exercise their constitutional rights of the French Republic and humanitarian law. Entering immigration in the framework of the French Republic proved that treating this immigration is as a permanent element in the French state. |
