| Summary: | Władysław Mieczysław Kozłowski observes within religion values that form strong bonds between individuals. He stated that brotherly love is the source of the social idea that he put so much emphasis on, in which the aspirations of the individual to better oneself play a crucial role. It is in fact the strong, intelligent individuals that will lead the society to higher ideals. According to the Polish philosopher, religion is a social bond and is one of the factors of upbringing. Thus, he suggests that religion should be taught in churches not in schools, so as to avoid any misunderstandings pertaining to education. Religion as a feeling should be the work of our consciousness, and not be absorbed from the outside. While he denies religion cognitive properties, he puts much emphasis on the role of feelings, without which inter-human cooperation and coexistence would be impossible. |
