Summary: | The article concerns an interpretation of Witold Gombrowicz’s work in the context of "aesthetoteism", a kind of para-religion, especially those aspects which focus on the cult of music. This kind of reflection appears e.g. on Schopenhauer’s and Nietzsche’s oeuvre. The author uses the cultural context of education, and analyses Polish writer’s life and work. "Disrespect of gods" juxtaposed with a great passion with which Gombrowicz presents his opinions on literature, music and art allow us to interpret his oeuvre in the category of ambivalence. |
