| Summary: | The article consists of three parts and the conclusion. In the first part of the article I indicate the following ways of valuing religion: Evaluation from the point of view of a particular religious doctrine; Evaluation from the point of view of a particular philosophy; The assessment of the impact of religion on the personal, social and cultural life of men (the pragmatic approach); Evaluation of the apology of religion. In the second part I present Werner Sombart’s assessment of the impact of the Jewish religion on economic life. In the third part I present Jean Alcader’s assessment of the relationship between the Qur’an and Islamic terrorism and intolerance of non-Muslims. In the conclusion I write that: Religion should be assessed in terms of truth and good; Evaluation of religions is important for our understanding of culture and civilisation, politics, diplomacy, and also intercultural and interreligious dialogue. |
