Description
Summary:The paper is devoted to esoteric inspirations in the output of the Swedish painter Hilma af Klint (1862-1944), i.e. to the following stages of her fascination with the systems of renovation of the higher spiritual levels in man, which, in the case of Klint, proved to be spiritualism (a group of "Five" - De Fem), Helena Blavatsky’s Theosophy and the Anthroposophy of Rudolf Steiner. Mysterious images arranged in series, and called today by painting experts precursory works of abstract painting, trouble surprised viewers with their power of expression and encrypted symbolic knowledge. The article presents the creative personality of Hilma af Klint and discusses some of the esoteric concepts which are components of the images of each painting cycle.
