Σύνοψη:The aim of this article is to present some epigraphic, iconographic and literary sources concerning the puzzling destiny of a invisible population. We refer to the angels that inhabited the Lower Danube region between the 2nd century CE and the beginning of the 12th century CE. These sources provide an opportunity to take a closer look at the relation between the human and the Divine in the above mentioned frontier space. This is also a step towards a better understanding of the circulation of Christian ideas from the East to the West and from the West to the East.
