| Summary: | Narrative study of the story of the covenant between Joshua and the Gibeonites (Jos 9) with special attention to the narrative of the cunning strategy of the latter and the reaction of the Israelites once the trick was discovered. The study focuses on the construction of narrative dynamics (essentially suspense) based mainly on the superior position of the reader, and on the function in the plot of the rhetoric deployed by the characters. Étude narrative du récit de l’alliance entre Josué et les Gabaonites (Jos 9). Une attention particulière est réservée à la mise en récit de la stratégie astucieuse de ces derniers et de la réaction des Israélites une fois la ruse découverte. L’étude s’intéresse en particulier à la construction de la dynamique narrative (essentiellement le suspense) basée surtout sur la position supérieure du lecteur, et à la fonction, dans l’intrigue, de la rhétorique déployée par les personnages. |
