| Summary: | The question of a possible renewal of the Church’s ministeriality requires that we first examine the real state of Christian communities in Europe and identify the actual innovations in their modes and places of ‘communalisation’ within a parish system undergoing profound change. Once this current framework has been outlined, the article goes on to specify the space for creativity available to these communities. If Vatican II remains an unavoidable regulating reference on this point, the ecclesial discernment of what is normative in the ministerial structure of Catholicism is being posed today in new terms. It must take into account post-conciliar developments in exegetical and historical research on the genesis of ministries in the early Church, as well as anthropological changes in our contemporary civilisation. Pope Francis’ decision to convene a synod on synodality, based on the equality of all the baptized and offering the 'most appropriate framework for understanding the hierarchical ministry itself', provides an unexpected pastoral anchor point to that research and these changes, and invites the invention of some new practices, adjusted to the present current situation. La question d’un possible renouvellement de la ministérialité de l’Église exige qu’on ausculte d’abord l’état réel des communautés chrétiennes en Europe et qu’on repère les innovations effectives de leurs modes et lieux de «communalisation» au sein d’un système paroissial en profonde mutation. Ce cadre actuel étant esquissé, l’article précise l’espace de créativité dont ces communautés disposent. Si sur ce point Vatican II reste une référence régulatrice incontournable, le discernement ecclésial de ce qui, dans la structure ministérielle du catholicisme, est normatif, se pose aujourd’hui en termes nouveaux. Il doit tenir compte des évolutions postconciliaires de la recherche exégétique et historique sur la genèse des ministères dans l’Église naissante ainsi que des mutations d’ordre anthropologique au sein de notre civilisation contemporaine. La décision du pape François de convoquer un synode sur la synodalité, fondé sur l’égalité de tous les baptisés et offrant le «cadre le plus adapté pour comprendre le ministère», donne à ces recherches et mutations un point d’ancrage pastoral inattendu et invite à l’invention de quelques nouvelles pratiques, ajustées à la situation actuelle. |
