| Summary: | What is undertaken in the presented study is the reflection upon minimalism, treated as a suggestion for building the foundations of anti-consumerist civilization. The author presents minimalism on one hand as a form of contemporary spirituality and, on the other, as a suggestion for lifestyle in the time of crisis. The figure of Henry David Thoreau is particularly focused on as well as his inspiring significance for the minimalist suggestion concerning the reconstruction of modern civilization. Pięć lat temu na łamach "Przeglądu Religioznawczego" opublikowałem swój pierwszy artykuł poświęcony minimalizmowi. Już wtedy w tle moich rozważań pojawił się wątek związku między minimalizmem a kryzysem gospodarczym. Jak pisałem wtedy, popularność tego zjawiska zbiega się z gospodarczymi perturbacjami, których symbolem stał się upadek banku Lehman Brothers. Minimalizm z racji swojego antykonsumpcjonistycznego nastawienia można by potraktować jako propozycję stylu życia w czasach kryzysu gospodarczego. |
