| Summary: | The article proposes a theoretical reflection on the nature of religious memory in socio-cultural concepts. Then, an example of the year 2016 was presented, when the anniversary of the baptism of Poland was celebrated. Memory can be varied and depends on the perception of the past by a given religious line. However, it is an integral part of the doctrine of monotheistic religion, including Christianity. At the same time, in the modern world, it is influenced by the processes of secularization and mediatization. The main thesis of the text is that religious memory has an aporetic nature, and therefore contradictory and paradoxical, because it contains other stories about the past. |
