| Summary: | The text is based on an analysis of Pope Francis’ statements on the war in Ukraine. In the first part of the text, the author analyzes Pope Francis’ understanding of war in the Encyclical Fratelli Tutti. In the second part, he characterizes the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching on the war starting from the teachings of St. Augustine, through the lectures of St. Tomas Aquinas and the teaching of the popes after World War II. The final section analyzes Pope Francis’ statements on the war in Ukraine during Sunday’s Angelus prayer. |
