Dabei fungieren die engen Verbindungen von Kapitel 50 zu 37, das Motiv der Heimsuchung Gottes (50,24f.), und des Hinaufführens der Gebeine Josephs (50,25) erzählstrategisch als Aufforderung zur Relecture, um mit einem geschärften Blick die verborgene Providenz Gottes in der Novelle von Kanaan nach Ägypten (neu) zu erkennen. | ||

In order to understand providence correctly, a focused reading is required. The lens for this is provided by the figure of Joseph in the final section of the novella (Gen 50:15-26). There, Joseph offers a providential interpretation of the events of the previous chapters.
