| Summary: | Il contributo presenta l’opera di Ireneo nel contesto storico del II sec., quando è vivo il dibattito con i marcioniti e gli gnostici e si avverte forte la tensione tra le tradizioni orali e quelle scritte sulla memoria cristiana. Dopo una presentazione dell’impianto logico dell’Adversus Haereses, già chiarificatore del suo pensiero, si analizza l’idea di “vangelo” presente nel libro terzo. Ivi si trova, per la prima volta l’espressione “vangelo tetramorfo”. La ricerca della verità e la centralità della persona del Verbo incarnato sono i criteri con i quali Ireneo affronta anche il tema delle “Scritture”, dando un significativo contributo alla formazione del canone biblico. The contribution presents the work of Irenaeus in the historical context of the second century, when the debate with the Marcionites and the Gnostics was alive and the tension between oral and written traditions on Christian memory was strongly felt. After a presentation of the logical structure of Adversus Haereses, already expressive of his thought, the idea of “gospel” is analyzed in the third book. There we find, for the first time, the expression “tetramorphic gospel”. The search for truth and the centrality of the person of the Incarnate Word are the criteria with which Irenaeus also deals with the theme of the “Scriptures,” making a significant contribution to the formation of the biblical canon. |
