Description
Summary:This article is a study of the meaning and scope of personal influence in John Henry Newman. This principle is proposed as a hermeneutical key to his biography, evangelizing action and educational vision in the university, and it is contrasted with his studies and doctrine in the historical-theological and philosophical fields. It is possible to draw a parallel between the principles of influence and discipline, in which Newman cites the essence and integrity of the university, and the personal influence and real assent in the biographical development. This interpretation is illuminating for understanding the author's life and teaching on self-formation.
