Description
Summary:One of the most significant aspects of the ongoing international synodal process lies in the proposed consultative phase. To substantiate this process theologically, recent specialized literature has focused particularly on the two arguments that Lumen gentium 12 highlights about the prophetism of the People of God: the sensus fidei fidelium and the theme of charisms. The present contribution refers to another line of reflection, diverse but convergent, which was expressed in multiple ways in the conciliar process and in the following decades, and which had a particular expression in Gaudium et spes. It is a dynamic of dialogue and listening that finds its concreteness in the assumption of the see-judge-act method as the backbone of the Constitution. This work also highlights the pneumatological argument which, although it is more visible in the perspectives that refer to the sensus fidei and the charisms, is also relevant in this other decisive conciliar line: the one that considers the theological significance of human experiences and historical events, and for this purpose outlines an empirical-theological method for the ecclesial reflection of faith.
