To have access to Hildegarda de Bingen is to get to know one of the most important personalities of the Middle Ages, someone who endowed the theological scene with a rich and diversified production, acting in several different areas such as theology, mystique, medicine, painting and music. Members of the academic environment do not come into agreement as to whether she was really a mystic or a visionary and prophet. This is an area where the debate remains open given the complexity of the issue. Our reflection tends to place her in the history of the Western Christian mysticism, as a very specific figure. |
