| Σύνοψη: | Despite strong secularization movements, the topic of religion has retained a high level of attraction and publicity in Europe for years. This results above all from the view of religious pluralization and the increase of Muslims in connection with migration. It quickly becomes clear that research on the relationship between migration and religion still has as many gaps as the determination of the relationship between religion and integration. Especially the reactions to migration processes, social and political, are of considerable importance for the openness of societies. This Special Section on Religion and Migration, for which this article is an introduction, has set itself the task of exploring this in greater detail. Trotz starker Säkularisierungsbewegungen behält das Thema Religion seit Jahren auch in Europa eine hohe Anziehungskraft und Öffentlichkeit. Diese resultiert vor allem aus dem Blick auf religiöse Pluralisierung und die Zunahme von Muslim:innen im Zusammenhang mit Migration. Dabei wird schnell deutlich, dass die Forschung zum Verhältnis von Migration und Religion noch genauso Lücken aufweist, wie die Bestimmung des Verhältnisses von Religion und Integration. Speziell die Reaktionen auf Migrationsprozesse, gesellschaftliche und politische, besitzen eine beachtliche Bedeutung für die Offenheit von Gesellschaften. Dieses näher zu erforschen hat sich die vorgelegte Special Section Religion und Migration vorgenommen, für die dieser Beitrag eine Einführung darstellt. |
