Description
Résumé:This article offers a theological reflection on a justice-seeking practice, that of a faith-based organisation inviting a member of parliament to visit a hostel that is home to people experiencing homelessness. The issue of homelessness is outlined, and the practice of the visit put into context. The practicalities and purposes of the visit are explained. The narrative of Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–9) is used to reflect upon the different ways in which unrighteousness, being lost and entanglement with wickedness are evident in the visit. Finally the visit as a justice-seeking practice is evaluated before the outcome of this particular case is disclosed.
