| Summary: | There is a tendency to read the story of Joseph and his brothers as a Diaspora Novella, which had its origins during the Persian and Hellenistic periods. This essay partly agrees with this trend, and argues that the Novella was an independent story, which passed through at least three stages of composition: a) In Israel North, during the rule of Jeroboam II; b) During the Persian and Hellenistic rules, when it took on the character of a Diaspora Novella; c) On the final composition of the Pentateuch, when it was annexed to the book of Genesis, serving as a bridge between the books of Genesis and Exodus. Having shown this, the essay presents a sociological reading of the references used by the authors, in different periods, and concludes that the ground from which the Novella sprouted is peasant-pastoral. An arid environment, with a constant threat of drought, famine, insecurity, violence, and slavery. Há uma tendência de se ler a história e José e seus irmãos como uma novela da diáspora, que teve sua origem durante os domínios persa e helenista. Este ensaio concorda em parte com esta tendência e defende que a novela era uma história independente, que passou por pelo menos três fases de composição: a) em Israel Norte, durante o domínio de Jeroboão II; b) durante o domínio persa e helenista, quando ela recebeu o matiz de novela da diáspora; c) na composição final do Pentateuco, quando ela foi anexada ao livro do Gênesis, servindo de ponte entre os livros do Gênesis e do Êxodo. Mostrado isso, o ensaio apresenta uma leitura sociológica dos referenciais utilizados pelos autores, em diferentes períodos, e conclui de que o chão de onde brotou a novela é camponês-pastoril. Um ambiente de vida árida, de ameaça constante da seca, da fome, da insegurança, da violência e da escravidão. |
