Описание
Итог:This study investigated the relationships between parental rejection and religiosity with mood and substance use in a college sample of 237 participants (68 men and 169 women). The gender of respondent and parent and type of rejection were also considered in estimating those relationships. In addition, the study explored the role of religiosity as a potential moderator of the toxic effects of parental rejection. Results supported a pattern of positive associations between parental rejection with dysphoria and substance use, with gender and type of rejection exercising a significant influence. In addition, religiosity was inversely related to dysphoria and substance use. Contrary to expectations, these findings did not support the role of religiosity as a moderator in those relationships. Limitations and implications for future research are presented in the discussion.
