Description
Summary:Theatre has been regarded with some scepticism by Pentecostal churches. This paper argues for a reconsideration of its role, suggesting not only that theatre can be a place of spiritual encounter, but that the church service is inherently theatrical. The paper ultimately argues for a story-acting church in which the performance of liturgical drama forms a central part of the church service and a place of encounter, helping Christians to experience ‘holy theatre’ and situate their own faith stories within the narrative of Scripture.
