| Summary: | In this article the author reflects on the Old Testament research in Latvia (in the period from 1920 to 1940) and makes some general comments on publications of three theologians from the University of Latvia (Bencingers, Zicans, Treijs). All examples allow to conclude that these Latvian theologians were insignificantly influenced by main trends of the German Old Testament theology in the 1930s. They remained faithful to the historical - critical approach in order to solve current problems of the Old Testament theology |
