| Summary: | El siguiente estudio trata de comprender, a través del análisis de algunas fuentes del siglo IV-V, en primer lugar, las principales causas del cisma que tomó el nombre de Lucifer de Cagliari y cual fue en realidad el papel desempeñado por el obispo sardo al principio y en su desarrollo posterior, para luego identificar esas comunidades y aquellos personajes que, de Occidente a Oriente, consideraron la intransigencia del obispo de Cagliari como una garantía para la protección de la ortodoxia de la Iglesia frente al arianismo. Ante el ejemplo ofrecido por Lucifer, arremetieron contra cualquier forma de reconciliación hacia los obispos considerados coludidos de alguna manera con los arios: quienes fueron llamados "luciferianos". By studying some 4th and 5th century sources this study seeks to understand, first of all, the main causes of the schism that took its name from Lucifer of Cagliari, and what was, in effect, the role that sardinian bishop played in bringing about that schism and in its subsequent development. The purpose is that of identifying the communities and personages that, from West to East, considered the intransigence of Lucifer of Cagliari as the guarantee of the safeguarding of orthodoxy in the Church as she was facing Arianism. Looking up to Lucifer's example, they opposed any form whatsoever of reconciliation with regard to the bishops considered complicit in any way with the Arians: These opponents of conciliation were called "the Luciferians". |
