Description
Summary:R?ml?la, also spelt as Ramleela, is also pronounced as R?mdilla - a vernacular term which has come to signify the indentured diasporic experience, for example, of rupture, change, reconstruction and new realities. R?ml?la is traditionally a ten-day ritual folk performance enacting the major events in the life of Sri Ram and as told in the Ramcharitmanas. In Trinidad, the traditional style of performance is the open air or maidan style, though in recent years the manch or stage style is making an appearance.
