In the circumstances, any attempt at an accurate estimate of local Gujarati literature is likely to be a hazardous enterprise. In fact, this article may very well be the first to attempt such an investigation and, the lack of source material notwithstanding, I believe a reasonably holistic picture can emerge by careful examination of the available evidence. |
