Description
Summary:Reviews recent historiography (especially Dutch Catholic) on Christian missions since the 15th century. Historians and anthropologists are more interested in the local setting of missionary activities and often start with the people at whom the mission is directed, while missiologists and writers of chronicles mostly deal with the missionaries as the major agents in the process of religious change. With the decrease in the number of expatriate missionaries, more and more attention is being paid to the stocktaking of a great period.
