Description
Summary:This paper is a contribution to the discussion on the relationship between the Czech and German reformation together with the acceptance of elements from Lutheranism by Utraquism in the 16th century. According to researchers such as F. Hrejsa, B. Chropovský, this influence led to the emergence of a new movement in Utraquism - Neo-Utraquism. The main aim of this paper is to evaluate whether Candlemas Day Articles reflects this tendency towards Lutheranism, such as the acceptance of elements of Lutheran doctrine and if there may be an indicator of the emergence of Neo-Utraquism. I will compare these Articles with the Augsburg Confession. The observed similarities between the two sources, however, are not necessarily an indicator of Lutheran acceptance.
