Description
Summary:The aim of the article is to present the Confirmatory factor analysis of the Style of Religious Experience Scale (SRES). The cognitive-developmental concept of integral development of religiosity by Walesa, which distinguishes eight parameters of religiosity served as the theoretical base for the scale. The results of confirmatory factor analysis performed on a sample of 218 participants showed that the five-factor model based on 17 items of the SRES fit the data best. The five dimensions in religious experience are: (1) Importance rating; (2) Negative experiences; (3) God’s support; (4) Entrusting in God and (5) Openness to God. Validity and reliability indicators of the SRES were found to be satisfactory. The scale was constructed taking into account the specificity of the Christian religion.
