Summary:This article describes the relation between spirituality and well-being. First, we differentiate spirituality from religion by focusing on the inner attitude of living life directly related to the sacred that is not restricted to a membership of a religion. Next, a review is provided of empirical studies on the beneficial effects of spirituality on well-being. Then, spirituality is proposed as an element of eudaimonic well-being.
