There are numerous books and articles in various languages dealing with many aspects of its history. However, there are still unresolved issues and controversies waiting to be researched. In this article I will focus only on some basic issues, such as the founding of the NDH in 1941 and some characteristics of relations with its two main allies and protectors - Italy and Germany.
