Summary:This article will have religion, irony and literature having Kierkegaard definition of irony as theme and the religion in Tillich applied to the great representatives of the nineteenth-century literature, Fyodor Dostoiévski and Machado de Assis. Religious aspects and ironic dimensions are analyzed in their books Notes from Underground and The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas. This article methodologically draws a dialogue between religion and literature based upon bibliographic references.
