Итог:Everyone associated with and everything else that was said at the World's Parliament of Religions at Chicago in September 1893 has long been forgotten, only one name is cherished today, that is the name of Swami Vivekananda. He shook the world to its very foundations by his "speech" a hundred years ago. These facts are striking, especially in the face of the peculiar conditions that were prevailing in India. India was incessantlyinvaded by foreign powers and subjected to foreign rule for almost a thousand years culminating in the British occupation of it. The imposition of foreign domination came as a shock to the masses of India set afloat from the moorings of their ancient culture and ideals adrift into the stormy seas of Western materialism.
