| Summary: | The Third Council of Toledo, convened in May 589 by King Recaredo, was an exceptional event in the history of Spain and in the history of the Church. Liturgy occupies a central place in this Council, as it is through liturgy that faith is formulated and expressed. At the same time, the liturgy serves to nourish the faith, as manifested in the introduction to the Creed during the celebration of the Mass, as finally established in this Council.
