The celebrations of this anniversary cannot leave indifferent people involved in the field of Religious Studies. In the article, Taylor's significant contributions to the study of religion - an innovative view of secularization, a refined genealogy of modern identity, a philosophical anthropology hospitable to the experience of the sacred, a revisionary understanding of the concept of "religion" - is reconstructed starting from his works published in the "Annali di studi religiosi" along the years. In conclusion, taking a cue from the essay "History of Ethical Growth", the figure of Charles Taylor is portrayed as that of a teacher, a "maestro" in the old sense of the word, in an age that distrusts masters. |
