Das aber bedeutet nicht, Fragen des Glaubens kämen zwischen Politik, Sport und Prominenten gar nicht vor. Blickt man zurück, so erlebten Kirche und Religion wechselvolle Konjunkturen in "Bild". Eine Hochzeit gab es unter Chefredakteur Kai Diekmann (2001-2017). Er räumte prominenten Geistlichen Platz im Blatt ein, verehrte Papst Benedikt und gab eine "Volksbibel" heraus. Schon distanzierter ließ sein Nachfolger als Chefredakteur, Julian Reichelt (2017-2021), berichten, vor allem über Skandale der katholischen Kirche. Eine respektierte Sonderstellung nahm stets das Judentum in der Berichterstattung von "Bild" ein. Das Bild vom Islam ist eher negativ konnotiert. Church and religion are not first-choice topics for a tabloid like "Bild". But that doesn't mean that questions of faith don't come up at all between politics, sports, and celebri-ties. If one looks back, church and religion have experienced changing cycles in "Bild". One marriage occurred under editor-in-chief Kai Diekmann (2001-2017). He gave pro-minent clergymen space in the paper, revered Pope Benedict and published a "People's Bible". His successor as editor-in-chief, Julian Reichelt (2017-2021), was already more de-tached in his reporting, especially on scandals in the Catholic Church. Judaism always occupied a respected special position in the reporting of "Bild". The image of Islam tends to have negative connotations. |
