Summary:American Evangelicals have long been adopters of technology to further the spread of the gospel and to create attractive environments that make people more comfortable in church. But in March of 2020, COVID-19 created a worldwide paradigm shift for daily living which meant that the normal gathering of the church for worship, instruction, and fellowship became either prohibited entirely or severely restricted. An immediate and nearly universal response of the American church was to call on technology to come to the rescue. This article looks back on over two years of turbocharged use of technology for "doing" church amid COVID and asks, has it worked?
