| Summary: | Jean Tauler, un des représentants de la mystique rhénane, propose dans ses sermons un enseignement sur l’union de l’homme à Dieu Trinité, en référence au lieu théologique qu’est le fond (grunt) de l’âme, où réside l’image trinitaire. Tandis qu’il rend compte de cette union dans l’un de l’âme, il invite ses auditeurs à un itinéraire vers ce lieu de « fontalité » ultime où la Trinité opère la divinisation de l’homme, par grâce. Celui-ci est, en effet, appelé, par grâce de l’Esprit, à refluer dans le Père, avec et dans le Fils, trouvant ainsi l’accomplissement de son identité de fils par adoption. Trois points principaux sont abordés dans la présente contribution qui voudrait esquisser une saisie théologique de la Trinité divinisatrice dans quelques sermons de Jean Tauler : 1° l’agir divinisateur de la Trinité dans le fond de l’âme ; 2° la visite du Saint-Esprit et sa fécondité dans notre filiation par adoption ; 3° devenir, par grâce, ce que Dieu est par nature. The Trinity as Author of Divinization in some of John Tauler’s Sermons In his sermons on man’s union with God Trinity, John Tauler, a representative of Rhineland mysticism, refers to the innermost core of the soul where the trinitarian image resides. In his teaching on union in the oneness of the soul, Tauler guides his listeners along the path towards this ultimate source where the Trinity brings about the divinization of man by grace. Man is indeed called, by the grace of the Spirit, to return to the Father, with and in the Son, and to thus find the fulfilment of his identity as an adopted son. The present article seeks to contribute to a theological understanding of the Trinity as the author of divinization in some of John Tauler’s sermons. Three main points are discussed: 1° the Trinity’s work of divinization in the core of the soul; 2° the visitation of the Holy Spirit and its fruitfulness in our adoptive sonship; 3° becoming by grace what God is by nature. |
