| Summary: | This article presents the archacological research conducted in the core of the “biblical lands” (Israel, Palestinian Territories, Jordan) in the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century. It is the first several articles on the topic. In the first half of the article the author explains the theoretical and methodological implications that the increasing awareness that the past belongs to the whole of humanity has for the archaeology of the region. It also presents the current use of several digital tools and of recently developed technologies, and alerts about the serious dangers threatening the archaeological heritage of the region nowadays. In the second half of the article the author presents the latest discoveries and discussions on the Middle Bronze Age IIB-C (the period that has traditionally been proposed as background of the Patriarchal narratives) in the core of the “biblical lands,” and in the bigger background of the Near East, including Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. Among these, the discovery of a temple of this period in Jerusalem and the discussion of the water system in the same city should be highlighted. Este artículo presenta la investigación arqueológica en el núcleo de las “tierras bíblicas” (Israel, Territorios Palestinos, Jordania) al inicio de la tercera década del siglo XXI. Es el primero de varios artículos sobre el tema. En la primera mitad del artículo la autora explica las implicaciones teóricas y metodológicas que la creciente concienciación del pasado como pertenencia de toda la humanidad tienen para la arqueología de la región. También presenta el uso que hoy se hace de diversas herramientas digitales y de tecnologías de reciente desarrollo en la investigación arqueológica regional, así como alerta de los graves peligros que actualmente acechan al patrimonio arqueológico en la zona. En la segunda mitad del artículo la autora presenta los últimos descubrimientos y discusiones acerca del período del Bronce Medio H!IB-C (el período que tradicionalmente se ha propuesto como trasfondo de las narraciones patriarcales) en el núcleo de las “tierras bíblicas” y en el marco más amplio del Próximo Oriente, incluyendo Turquía, Siria, Líbano y Egipto. Entre ellos cabe destacar el descubrimiento de un templo en Jerusalén y la discusión acerca del sistema de agua en la misma ciudad. |
