Summary: | In her study of Corpus Christi (1991), Miri Rubin discussed four genuine sermons for the feast from medieval England (three in English, one in Latin). The present essay extends her findings to all Latin sermons for the feast that I have found in manuscripts: some twenty-five items clearly marked to be preached on Corpus Christi, the Thursday after the First Sunday of Trinity, plus one sermon that may be assumed to have been written for that occasion. Major topics dealt with are listed and discussed in some detail. |
