Description
Summary:The article develops elements of an ecumenical hermeneutics on the basis of failed and successful examples of confessional disputes and dialogues: taking seriously the perspectivity of the teachings of the different churches, their conceptualities and their forms of thought; identifying commonalities of the different teachings in their reference to the same "Sache" while distinguishing between "Sache" and their expressions, and then recognizing the teaching of the other church as a Christian possibility. This is conceived in the concept of differentiating consensus. The challenges are seen in the tack of a common understanding of the goat of the dialogues, in the loss of relevance of the ecumenical conversations due to the loss of relevance of the churches as institutions and their doctrines for the believers, as well as in the difficulties of making the progress in the dialogues tangible for the people in the church.
