Description
Summary:Respect for all created beings is an integral part of Christian ethics. Although we cannot speak of friendship with the Earth in a literal sense, the article reveals that the basic elements of friendship can also be found in ethical attitudes towards other living beings and towards the natural environment as a whole: interconnectedness, awareness of vulnerability, common growth and responsibility for the common good. The encyclical Laudato si' calls for ecological conversion and for care and responsibility for our common home.
