| Summary: | In the context of scientific claims about possible scenarios for the future of the planet and the universe, the article presents the understanding of the new creation in St. Thomas Aquinas. It is a concept that uncovers the meaning of history and earthly life and makes it important for the identity of those who will participate in the life of the blessed. Based on Aquinas' biblical commentaries and his doctrinal syntheses, what survives in eternity from what was lived on earth is presented. In this way, categories and images are shown, inspired by Holy Scripture, which are far from the so-called "de-creation", postulated by some authors, as a way of entering into the new creation. From these reflections, the Thomistic argument for the value of history and the specificity of the Christian vocation to sanctify earthly realities is discovered. En el contexto de las afirmaciones científicas sobre posibles escenarios del futuro del planeta y el universo, el articulo presenta la compresión de la nueva creación en santo Tomás de Aquino. Se trata de un concepto que descubre el sentido de la historia y vida terrena haciéndola importante para la identidad de quien participara en la vida de los bienaventurados. De ahí se presenta, con base en los comentarios bíblicos del Aquinate y sus síntesis doctrinales, qué es lo que sobrevive en la eternidad de lo que se vivía en la tierra. De esta forma se muestran las categorías e imágenes, inspirados en la Sagrada Escritura, que están lejos de la llamada "des-creación", postulada por algunos autores, como manera de entrar en la nueva creación. A partir de estas reflexiones, se descubre el argumento tomista del valor de la historia y lo especifico de la vocación cristiana de santificar las realidades terrenas. |
