Summary:In this essay an attempt has been made to evaluate Bultmann's ""demythologized"" reinterpretation of the New Testament proclamation of cross and resurrection. Naturally, special attention has been given to Bultmann's essay on New Testament and Mythology which started the worldwide discussion on demythologizing the New Testament, and in which he concentrated mostly on the cross and resurrection.
