Description
Summary:The offer and acceptance of hospitality, calls to be hospitable and the possibility of entertaining angels in this way appear in several books of the New Testament. Yet, what was precisely involved in ancient hospitality? The present study is based on a PhD dissertation (M.C. Parsons, C.H. Talbert are mentioned). It offers a fine study of ancient hospitality and - in the shorter second part - particularly the practice of hospitality and its theological significance in Luke-Acts.
