Summary: | "'Now that Paul is out of your system' my grandfather said, 'how about a book on Jesus who actually got Christianity right, rather than writing about that rascal who mucked everything up?'" With these words Daniel Kirk begins his search for a narrative theology that would integrate the message of Jesus as recorded in the Gospel and the message of Paul as contained in his Letters. He takes up this task because of the continuing impression that Paul has somehow taken the open gospel of social justice proclaimed by Jesus and turned it into something less wholesome. |
