| Summary: | Paul's basic theological vision concerning the Spirit of God is that of the Spirit as eschatological Gift to his people. This Spirit, however, is also the Worker of God's gifts to his people - and the gifts include on the one hand his gift of salvation, on the other hand the particular gifts commonly designated as the charismata. These again are viewed as gifts to individual members of the congregation, but also as gifts to the congregation as such. In this last case the charismata are the gifted people within the congregation who have a commission over against the congregation. |
