Описание
Итог:After a short introduction, current issues in literary theory concerning ""genre"" are discussed in the light of the underlying epistemologies and the implications for the study of ""genre"" in the New Testament. The Platonic/Aristotelian legacy is considered, as well as recent developments, including post-structuralist developments. The Revelation of John poses many interesting problems in this regard. In section two these are treated in the light of the current debate on literary theory as well as the debate on the ""genre"" of the Revelation of John in New Testament research. The essay concludes with a few remarks about the future study of the genre of the Revelation of John.
