| Résumé: | The role of Peter in the Gospel of Mark has been studies from various perspectives during the past. These include attempts to ""reconstruct"" the ""real"" Peter from Petrine, or as others argued, anti-Petrine strands in Mark's material, as well as descriptionptions of Mark's presentation of the person and position of Peter. In recent years the gospels have been subjected to various forms of narrative analysis and the narrated figures have been studied with respect to their narrative roles. This study explores the possibility of studying the shaping and function of Peter as a character in Mark's story of Jesus. In order to avoid misunderstanding the first part of the paper deals with theoretical aspects of roles, characters and narrated figures. In the second part a construction is made of what Mark's Peter is like. |
