Description
Summary:Reader's response and reception criticism focused the attention on the reader in the text. Various approaches and methods have been explored by literary critics. In this paper an experiment is made to determine whether the phenomenological analysis of the reading process as it is presented by Wolfgang Iser can be successfully applied to the Gospel of John whose style seems to be pre-eminently suitable for such an exercise.
