| Zusammenfassung: | Acts locates the origins and earliest developments in the history of Christianity in Jerusalem. This paper explores reasons why the inner circle of Jesus' disciples should have chosen to reside in Jerusalem during this period. A number of interrelated motives are identified. Most important are those concerning the eschatological hopes of the first Christians, central to which was the expectation of judgment upon Jerusalem before the return of Jesus and establishment of God's eschatological kingdom. |
